  KBAT version 1.2 is available

KBAT (Kernel-Based Association Test) is a convenient analysis tool for genome-wide and candidate-region association mapping. Both numerical results and graphic results are provided by KBAT to identify disease susceptibility genes/regions. KBAT software was written in language R. A user-friendly interface was designed with R-GUI to facilitate the use of the software. Association tests in KBAT were developed based on the concept of p-value combination and moving average. Intermarker linkage disequilibrium and/or intermarker distance were incorporated into test statistics to enchance test power and control false positive. Single-locus and multilocus association tests were implemented, and empirical p-values were calculated by using a Monte Carlo procedure allowing for p-value dependence.
